To be present creatively in the culture, one needs to reflect on the relation between Christian Faith and culture in Vietnam: what happened, what we can learn from the past, and how the mission of Jesus can be realized in the context of Buddhist - Christian dialogue

Abstract/Sommario: The article discusses the historical developments of the main causes of change in the Melanesian society and the traditional key values of community, exchange and relationship. The people's willingness to establish new relationships with those who do not belong to the tribal group as seen in the Wantok system is exposed with a recommendation that it be integrated with Christian values and the Christ be adopted as a Wantok.
