Abstract/Sommario: The Krishna Valley region, in Andhra Pradesh, has a rich heritage of Buddhist art befitting one of the greates centres of Buddhism. While the gloriuos Mahastupa at Amaravati was made from the 1st century B.C. to the 3rd century A.D., many other stupas were made in the Krishna Valley. Their railings and drum slabs are part of a vast corpus of the early art of Buddhism
