Abstract/Sommario: The bronze images of Pala period, found in large numbers at Nalanda and Kurkihar, are among the finest ever produced. These images of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, being easier to transport than larger stone ones, travelled to Nepal, Tibet and South-East Asia, transmitting the concepts and styles of Indic art far and wide in the 8th and 9th century B.C.
