Abstract/Sommario: While insisting upon the role of the local Christian communities, Bishop Koda feels that Buddhist people, such as Jodo Shinshu believers, are clearly aware of transcendent dimension of salvation. On a fundamental level they really have much in common with each other. In talking social problems Christians and Buddhists can cooperate, and in doing so they can grow in understanding each other's faith and sympathy
