Abstract/Sommario: The study presents the Report of the Apostolic Visitation of Don Emmanuele Conforti on the Franciscan missions of Shensi, Shansi and Kansu (1798) The document is of a considerable historical value, because it gives an abundance of information, hitherto unknown, on a large Franciscan mission at a time, when the Christian religion was proscribed in China and mission work carried on under greatest difficulties
