Abstract/Sommario: More than 50 years ago Fr. Johannes Schütte, then SVD Mission Secretary, asked about the essential factor in SVD clerical formation. His response: mission is the essential factor and to become a missionary priest is the goal of formation. The same question is the point of departure of the article.
