The objective of the paper is to provide an overview of the nature and extent of emergency relief efforts undertaken in countries impacted by the 2004 tsunami - particularly in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. These countries together accounted for 99,7% of all deaths caused by the tsunami.
