Abstract/Sommario: Among the Jesuit missionaries who worked in China in the 17. century, none seems to personify the 'scientific missionary' better than Antoine Thomas. He was the most prolific and probably the most influential among the Kangxi emperor's (1662-1722) teachers in Mathematics.
