Alfarabi (d. 950) was a political philosopher. The Author analyses his work "Aphorism of the Statesman", where the ruler of the virtuous city is characterized among the other virtues, by the 'boldly capability for jihad, and having nothing in his body that prevents him from carrying out the things pertaining to jahad.
