Abstract/Sommario: The Asiatic Black Bear, or 'moon bear', has inhabited Japan since prehistoric times, and is the largest animal to have roamed Honshi, Shikoku and Kyushu since mega-fauna became extinct on the Japanese archipelago after the last glacial period.
