Abstract/Sommario: A Nongmingong is someone who is registered as a rural resident, but working in a town, city or industrial site, either on a temporary or long-term basis. Reliable statistics reveals that in 2003 about 113,9 million farmers worked outside their home villages and that the entire 'floating population' had reached 140 million.
