Abstract/Sommario:
The article investigates the social mechanism of witchcraft in Hwali ward in Zimbabwe. It argues that the discourse of witchcraft is a local idiom and means to explain and control modern changes. The escalating witchcraft and anti-witchcraft practices can be seen as both explanatory and instrumental.
