Abstract/Sommario:
Xuahue huapu is a painting catalogue collection formed under Emperor Huizong’s Hanlin Accademy in the 12th century . In this catalogue about two hundred and thirty painting masters were ordered in ten categories. On each master a brief biography and list of works were written. Huizong emphasized the attainment of a poetic idea, the mode of scholar-artists, and he choosed to advance the profession of painting to a higher state than other crafts.
