Abstract/Sommario: The 18th Law Commission, in its report, addresses the lacunae in the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. The Commission has not only taken into account national and international opinion on the implications of child marriage but gone a step further by suggesting setting the age of marriage for men at 18 years.

The material never dominates the image, which moves the viewer through the perfection of its beauty. In the medieval period, in Brahamanical worship, a great relationship of adoration and love was developed between devotees and the deities they worshipped. Men and women looked upon these personifications of the qualities within them to be moved by their grace and beauty and to awaken the best in themselves. The purpose was always to lose oneself, to leave behind the concerns of the material world, in the ecstasy of adoration. This moment of transport was considered to be a glimpse of true knowledge itself. Unlike the European tradition of using models, the images were made using mnemonic techniques, whereby the craftsmen had to memorise dhyana shlokas which describe the attributes of various goddesses and gods

Abstract/Sommario: A third nikahnama (marriage contract), from the All India Muslim Women's Personal Law Board, sparks another controversy in the Muslim community. It has a number of suggestions that can give more rights to Muslim women in marriage, but the success of the initiative will largely depend on the organisation's ability to propagate its merits far and wide. It has a number of suggestions that can give more rights to Muslim women in marriage, but the success of the initiative will largely depend on the organisation's ability to propagate its merits far and wide. This latest nikahnama, scripted by women scholars and which is applicable to both Sunnis and Shias recognises the right of the woman to seek divorce and separation, but also stipulates financial settlement in order to protect the financial security of the woman and her children. Another significant advancement regards the registration of all marriages, prohibiting the proclamation of the triple talq through SMS, e-mail, phone and videoconferencing . Unfortunately, Muslim women are not aware of the new nikahnam or its clauses although a large number of men have taken note of the debate in the media
